Nicole writes best at two in the morning. She graduated with a BA in English Literature, but if she’s being honest, she majored in Shakespeare. Her favorite things include d20s, soft cardigans, the robots on Mars, and video game music. She’s a born and bred Chicagoan, but currently lives in Colorado with her partner and their cat. Professionally, she's been the marketing manager at an indie bookstore; unprofessionally, she flails about Star Wars.

Nicole has been writing nonsensically since she was very small, and coherently since she was slightly bigger. She will never write legibly. Thanks to a childhood full of David Eddings and Tamora Pierce, she focuses most of her reading and writing on fantasy (and sci-fi). Art of all kinds has always been her sanctuary, and she dabbles in acrylic painting, digital illustration, bookbinding, various fiber arts, and playing the violin.

When not writing, she can be found plotting mayhem for tabletop RPG sessions, aiming very badly in video games, reading NASA articles, or "baking" mug cakes in her microwave. Or petting her cat. But the cat is in charge of that.
